From budget guess to bid truth

Built for general contractors and property managers running capital projects.

Check the range

Search any scope: roofing, electrical, boiler, facade, interiors. See the median, the 25th/75th range, and the trend for your market before you set a budget.

Set a realistic budget

The budget-check tool prices your scope against the index. You issue the RFP with a number backed by real bids, not last year's memory.

Log the bids you get

Enter the bids that come in: line items, totals, which vendor won. Vendor names are anonymized before anything is stored.

Spot the outlier

On Pro plans, every new bid is checked against the index automatically. A bid 40% above the 75th percentile gets flagged before you award it.

Compound the dataset

Every project entered tightens the ranges for the next one. Subscribers who contribute get the dataset that everyone else pays for.

Why GCs and PMs subscribe

The incumbent is a senior estimator's memory. The index is the whole market's memory.

Real bids

What vendors actually charge

Not book rates, not national averages with multipliers. Bids collected from real projects in your market this quarter.

Budget checks

Price the scope before the RFP

Set budgets from data instead of memory. Owners take data-backed budgets seriously.

Outlier alerts

Never award a bad bid blind

Every bid is checked against the index on entry (Pro plans). Overpriced bids get flagged before the signature goes on the contract.

Vendor history

Who bids what, anonymized

Price-position history per vendor, anonymized. See how a bidder's pricing tracks against the market over time.

Market detail

Per trade, per borough

Ranges segmented by scope, market, and building type. A Queens roof is not a Manhattan roof, and the index knows it.

Compounding

Gets better with every project

Each logged project sharpens the ranges. A dataset built from years of bids is one no newcomer can backfill.

Pricing for how you build

Questions

Where does the bid data come from?

Subscribers log the bids they collect on their own projects, and AlignBid users can import bid data with one click. Vendor names are anonymized before anything enters the index. Launch ranges are seeded from public NYC job filing cost data.

Why would I share my bid data with competitors?

You never share identifiable data. Vendors, projects, and companies are anonymized; you see only aggregated ranges. And contributors get the full index: the data you put in comes back as market intelligence worth far more than one project's bids.

How is this different from RSMeans?

RSMeans publishes national average costs with multipliers. Bid History publishes what vendors in your market actually bid last quarter. One is a book, the other is the market.

Which markets are covered?

New York City launches first, segmented by borough and scope. More markets open as logged-project density crosses the anonymity threshold.

How does the AlignBid connection work?

AlignBid users can import their collected bids into Bid History with one click, anonymized automatically. The two products are separate subscriptions that make each other stronger.
